Fratellanza Popolare, registered in the Regional Civil Protection Register, has a group of volunteers ready to intervene in case of need. From June to September, it participates in the coordinated forest fire campaign by the Permanent Operational Unified Room (SOUP) of the Puglia Region. This is a significant commitment, especially for the frequency of fires on uncultivated land (sterpaglie) that every year affects the country despite the small size of the municipality's territory. The Association conducts an activity of prevention and detection of forest fires in areas at higher risk. The operational activity, on the other hand, consists of active firefighting of forest fires in support of the fire departments. Interventions are also carried out within the coordination of the National Public Assistance Association, which requires vehicles and volunteers in case of need. The possibility of operating together with other Public Assistance, within the ANPAS organization, allows continuous exchange of experiences, functions, and roles, strengthening numerous collaborations, so that it is ready in case of a natural disaster.
