Santu Vitu On demand is a project supported by Fondazione con il Sud through the “Bando per la mobilità sostenibile al Sud” and promoted by Fratellanza Popolare, Cooperativa Nui, Qualcosa di Diverso, Tecnonews, STP Brindisi, and the Municipality of San Vito dei Normanni. SVOD (Santu Vitu On Demand) aims to promote sustainable mobility in the municipality of San Vito dei Normanni, in the province of Brindisi, by activating and managing a shared transport system on demand. The initiative aims to integrate urban mobility services to respond to the needs of citizens, who must make short and medium-distance trips for work or pleasure.
Special attention is reserved for the most fragile, elderly, and people with reduced mobility, who can benefit from the service by being able to use vehicles designed for facilitated transport. The fleet consists of 3 electric/hybrid minivans with 9 seats each. The service is managed through a digital platform, integrated with a call center, from which it is possible to book a trip in sharing with the minivan electric/hybrid of the fleet for internal city trips or towards collective places of interest such as station, airport, schools, tourist destinations. This way, it is possible to share the ride with other users.
